Art pulses through Corrine’s body like the blood in her veins. It is how she sees and translates everything that is happening around her. Her oeuvre consists of several mediums including painting, sculpture, photography, installation pieces, and fiber art. She is a energetic and gifted communicator and uses multiple websites, blogs, and Facebook platforms to communicate and exchange ideas.
While she was born in northeast England, Corrine attended high school in London. In 1978 she married Burhan Bayraktaroglu, and the couple moved to the United States. Corrine learned embroidery, which figures prominently in her work, from her mother and grandparents while she was growing up. She took her first formal art classes at the age of forty. Corrine was taught and mentored by painter Marie Linnekin at Ann Arundel Community College, in Annapolis Maryland in 1996.
